About hypnotherapy

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis, a natural state of focused attention and deep relaxation, to help you work on specific patterns: habits, fears, beliefs and emotional responses. In my sessions it is supported by evidence-based counselling techniques.

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

No. You stay aware of where you are and what’s being said. You can speak, move or stop the session at any time, and hypnosis can’t make you do anything against your values.

Is hypnosis like being asleep?

No. Most people describe it as deeply relaxed and focused, like being absorbed in a good book. You can hear everything.

Is it the same as stage hypnosis?

Not at all. Stage hypnosis is entertainment. Hypnotherapy is a private, professional and collaborative process focused on your goals.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

Most people can experience hypnosis when they’re willing and feel comfortable. Some go deeper than others, and that’s fine. It isn’t a test you can fail.

Will I reveal things I don’t want to share?

No. You’re in control of what you say, during hypnosis and outside it.

Sessions

What happens in a session?

We start by talking through what you want to work on. Then I guide you into a relaxed, focused state and we work on the pattern together. We finish by talking about how it felt and what comes next.

How long is a session and how much does it cost?

Sessions last [DURAÇÃO] and cost [VALOR]. The first 15-minute call is free.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what you’d like to work on and how you respond. We’ll discuss it in the free call and review it together as we go.

Do online sessions work?

Online sessions follow the same process, and many people find it easier to relax at home. You need a quiet, private room, headphones and a stable internet connection.

Can I claim a rebate?

Health and safety

Can hypnotherapy replace my doctor, psychologist or medication?

No. Hypnotherapy is a complementary approach. Keep working with your health professionals, and never change medication without talking to your doctor.

Is hypnotherapy suitable for everyone?

It isn’t recommended for everyone, for example some people with psychosis or certain other conditions. We’ll check this together in the free call. [Marcos: confirmar contraindicações.]

Is what I share confidential?

Yes, within the limits set by professional and legal obligations. See the privacy policy for details.
